My most important client…..

Church Sanctuary

Following a fire in June 2012 the building was gutted down to the studs.  Only two things from the sanctuary survived and were restored – the pulpit and the picture of Jesus.  Before the fire the blue carpet with matching blue upholstered chairs was stale and lacked any creativity in this very austere interior.  The design solution – pull the color scheme from the surviving picture.  Building off this also was the selection of the carpet pattern which resembles the linen texture of the clothing being worn in the picture.  Lastly the chair fabric suggest antiquity adding some definition to this simple white church’s sanctuary. Whose most noteworthy architectural element is found in the pointed arch windows.
